Listening to our community: survey results shape local priorities

Thank you to everyone that took the time to complete our recent community survey.  The response was strong and the feedback clear; our residents are engaged in shaping the future of our local area, and that of the wider community.

Health services emerged as the top priority, reinforcing widespread concerns about access, capacity and reliability. Housing affordability and availability were also high on the list, alongside local planning and the rising cost of living, reflecting the everyday pressures facing families and households.

Safety featured prominently, with strong support for improved road safety, pedestrian crossings and safer school environments. Respondents also highlighted the importance of strengthening the local economy, supporting small businesses and creating jobs, while continuing to protect our environment and plan for an orderly energy transition.

These results provide a clear mandate and will directly inform ongoing advocacy, discussions with decision-makers and future community engagement.  Most importantly, they confirm that when we listen, our community speaks with clarity and purpose, and those voices matter.
